Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations update the 'Training Current Available' publication twice a year.

While researching the information for this edition it became more and more obvious that organisations are no longer producing fixed training programmes.  ACVO regards this pro-active approach of the provision of training “on request” as a very positive development as it means that training is more targeted to need and is only made available when it is required.  This inevitably places the onus on organisations and individuals looking for training.  Only when organisations are made aware of the demand, and demand is sufficient will courses be made available.

This edition is in two sections.  Section One lists the topic of Training in alphabetical order.  Section Two lists the Organisations in alphabetical order. Following this list is, in alphabetical order, a brief description of each organisation giving an outline of the training provided together with contact details.

This edition also includes a Checklist for those wishing more detailed information on the facilities available at those Venues for Training Events and Meetings, which are identified as providing Disabled Access.

Please note that inclusion in this document does not imply endorsement by ACVO.  While every effort has been made to ensure that information on courses and venues contained in the document is correct, no guarantee of accuracy is given. ACVO. recommends that full information on costs, dates and venues be obtained prior to entering into any agreement.

To allow ACVO to identify any gaps in the local training provision, organisations or individuals unable to find a specific training course are advised to inform ACVO.
