Healthy Living Network

Aberdeen’s Healthy Living Network is a low bureaucracy, money on the ground project committed to supporting community participation in all its work. The aim of the Healthy Living Network is to promote health and reduce health inequalities amongst people living in economic disadvantage in Aberdeen City. For the latest news, please read the Healthy Living Network Newsletters The Healthy Living Network has four main objectives: - To improve the financial circumstances of the targeted groups
- To Improve the ‘life chances and choices’ of project users by supporting the development of personal competencies and core life skills
- To provide meaningful support for parents experiencing disadvantage
- To identify, inform and shape local health improvement policy and service changes.
In order to achieve these objectives, three community based health improvement programmes, offering opportunities for local people to make changes in their lives and communities, are being developed. These programmes are Cash in your Pocket, Life Skills Development and Parenting. In addition, the Network Partners are committed to working as an effective Network to support the development and implementation of the Healthy Living Network's Action Plans (below) and identifying and shaping the relevant areas of local policy and service delivery to ensure that health inequalities are addressed.
