Let Everyone Play!

Our Kids Too (OK2) is founded on the belief that all children should be able to play together.  For many special needs children, it is simply not possible to play with other children using conventional play equipment. However, given the right equipment, special needs children can muck in with the rest!

Working closely with Aberdeen City Council, we aim to assist Aberdeen Schools and Parks to provide the necessary equipment for special needs and disabled children to play alongside the able-bodied.

We desperately need funds to help us realise our vision.

Completed Projects:

  • 3 duet wheelchair bicycles for Duthie and Hazelhead Parks.
  • Cults Primary School Inclusive Playground Equipment partly funded by Our Kids Too. To View the playground click: Cults Primary School.
  • Camphill: Playground – resurfaced to allow wheelchair access, funding towards Entertainment Equipment, Interactive whiteboards for wheelchair users, Nature/Nurture project, Therapy Building and play therapy room totalling to £10,000.
  • Duthie Park 'Our Kids Too' Playground funded by the Wooden Spoon rugby charity.
  • Nintendo Wii's for Archway Respite Centres
  • Entertainment systems which include Nintendo Wii's for Hazlewood, Marlpool (now part of Bucksburn Academy), Woodlands. (All special needs schools)
  • Assorted Equipment for the Raeden Centre.
  • Grampian Society for the Blind Youth Café including an electronic piano and other musical instruments, ipod docking system and soft furnishings.
  • Creating a saferoom for individual families with autistic children - £2,000

  • Further funding for Music4U for commencing a special needs elementary music group - £2,000.
  • Funding for individual families to build a specially made trike for children with autism - £2,000

     Using the Wheelchair Bikes

At Duthie Park the key for the shed is kept at the garden shop beside the restaurant. Please bring a bike helmet for the carer as well as the child as these are not provided.

You can access the bike at Hazelhead Park via the Pet Area – please ask the attendant.
