Firewalking at Doonie's Farm

On the 31st October 2010, Samantha and Kimberly, both members of Future Choices, took part in a fundraising firewalk to raise money for Future Choices. The night was organised by Graeme Pyper. The firewalkers had to be at Doonie's Farm for 4.45pm and that was when it all began. The firewalkers were all taken into a barn were they did games and other techniques to get them into the mind set of a firewalker. The firewalkers went up to watch the coal being lit. After that they were taken back to the barn. At 7.30pm the firewalkers went up to the hot coals that had been prepared for them to start walking.

The firewalkers all stood around the fire before walking. The first firewalk had everyone cheering for the people walking over the hot coals.Samantha and Kimberly both did this walk. Then there was a silent firewalk this was for people to walk for people that were not with us anymore and some people like to firewalk in silence. Samantha did this walk as well. Samantha did the silent walk for the members of Future Choices that we have lost over the years. It was an excellent experience. The firewalking finished at 8pm.

Samantha and Kimberly would like to thank everyone that came out to support them, even though it was cold night. Also, Future choices would like to give a big thank you to Graeme Pyper who organised the Firewalk. It was really well organised and it was a great night. A big thank you to everyone.
