REVIEW OF THE ETHNIC MINORITY FORUM

The Ethnic Minority Forum (EMF) is carrying out a review of what it does and how it does it.

We would like more involvement from ethnic minority communities and individuals to plan the review.

If you would like to help us do this, please contact Faiza on 01224523183 / fnacef@aberdeencity.go.uk for more details.

What does the Forum aim to do?

The Ethnic Minority Forum ensures that:

  • The voices of the local ethnic minority communities are heard
  • Their views are taken into account when decisions are being made that will affect their welfare in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.

The objectives of the forum are to:

  • Provide mutual understanding and co-operation between ethnic minority communities and the indigenous community.
  • Ensure that ethnic minority communities are consulted with and listened to.
  • Promote race equality, fairness and respect for diversity.
  • Encourage and acknowledge the contribution that ethnic minority people make to society.
  • Advise interested public and private bodies on any relevant issue.
