The Bread Maker
the bread maker
The bread maker is an in-house bakery and coffee bar offering adults with learning disability, meaningful work and training.
The charity, Aberdeen Day Project Ltd, was established in 2000 and will be totally based at Rosemount Viaduct.
The bakery and coffee bar working with the apprentices with a learning disability aspire to produce a range of innovative hand crafted bread and rolls. The range of confectionery should also be of the highest quality and all produced in-house. A variety of sandwiches, soups and salads are also available, all served with in-house bread and rolls.
The bread maker will be trading between the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm with the apprentices working and training within these times Monday to Saturday.
The bread maker will assist in helping the apprentices cope with the challenge of working in a real business and hopefully in time for a number to find full or part time employment either in the bread maker or in other bakeries and cafes in Aberdeen.
The bread maker has 25 apprentices who are supported by a staff of 8 people, which includes 3 part time coffee bar assistants, and a group of volunteers who give their time freely.
If you would like any information about the bread maker please contact them at the details below or visit the bakery and coffee bar.
