Advocacy Service Aberdeen

Advocacy Service Aberdeen (ASA) is a voluntary agency providing an independent advocacy service for people who use health and social care services in Aberdeen City. Advocacy helps people to have more control over their lives and to have a greater say in the services they receive.

We are seeking to recruit a

VOLUNTEER CO-ORDINATOR

Part-time – salary £16,487(+ 5% pension) for 25 hours per week

This post is for one year only in the first instance.

The Volunteer Co-ordinator's principal responsibility will be to recruit, train, supervise and support volunteers to provide an independent advocacy service.

An understanding of independent advocacy and experience of working with volunteers is essential. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to equal opportunities and to the empowerment of individuals and groups are also essential. Education to degree level or equivalent is desirable

Fersands & Fountain Community Project
Part-Time Youth Workers

Fersands & Fountain Community Project require part time youth workers to work around 10 hours per month, (with possibility of additional hours).

You will be working on an 'as and when reqired' basis as part of our small team. You will be required to work with young people aged between 12-25 years old, who often display challenging behaviour, supporting their personal growth through experiential learning, development of core skills, supporting needs of individuals and groups and promoting involvement within the community.

We are looking for experienced (either through paid or volunteering work) youth workers who are enthusiastic and reliable to join our pool of part time staff. There is up to 3 posts, and we are especially looking for one with a musical background to support our music groups. Additional hours may be provided with ongoing training and staff meetings.

Info Hub

The Info Hub has been developed in partnership with Aberdeen City Council, and opened in July 2011. To date it has been successful in providing information on various community services and other resources to the general public. It intends to be inclusive and aims to have information available that is up to date and accessible.

The Info Hub is also a place where people can come together to develop new needs led services. The ethos within the Info Hub is to encourage people to put their ideas into action.

There is currently a job share Hub Co-ordinator in place who have the overall responsibility of developing the Hub. The Enabler will act as a support for the Hub Co-ordinator.

This role will require a person who is confident in answering calls, communicating with the general public and using computers to seek out information. The Enabler must possess excellent people skills and have the ability to make people feel welcome. This post will be subject to a Disclosure Check.
