Funding Officer
The Helix, Falkirk
£24k-£30k
The Helix is one of the most ambitious community projects the UK has ever seen – and it's happening right in the heart of Scotland. The Helix will transform under-used land between Falkirk and Grangemouth into a thriving urban greenspace covering some 300 hectares.
Once completed, the Helix will be an outdoor recreational area open to all, offering easy access to picturesque woodland, a central park with a lagoon, linked walking paths and cycleways.
To complete this remarkable project, the Helix Trust is recruiting a Funding Officer to work closely with the Board and the Chief Executive to raise the funds needed to make this project a reality.
You'll need to have experience in successfully raising funds from charitable trusts and foundations.Ideally you'll also have done some work in approaching corporates or major donors too.Above all you'll be a committed and professional fundraiser who can work on your own initiative and engage with partners and existing supporters like British Waterways, Falkirk Council and Central Scotland Forest Trust.
This role is initially on a two-year, fixed-term contract but we are confident that as the project develops, further opportunities may arise to continue to work with Helix beyond this engagement. On offer is an attractive salary of £24k-£30k (depending on skills and experience), 26 days holiday (plus 8 statutory days) an employer contributory pension with Scottish Widows and a Life assurance scheme offering 4 times salary. We are also happy to discuss alternative working arrangements.
