To develop work in the Grampian area with a focus on group work and support for gay and bisexual men and for people living with HIV.
New Media & Communication Worker

Aberdeen Recovery Community
RECOVERY COACHES (DRUGS) Full Time (37 hrs)
Salary: Salary £23,082 - £ 25,551

This innovative service will combine the expertise of organisations in Aberdeen city, to provide a comprehensive package of recovery focussed support to individuals who are seeking to make positive changes in their lives. The service will play a central role in the overall development of recovery in the city. Working in partnership with drug treatment providers and employability specialists, the successful candidates will be part of a team that will provide specialist interventions to drug users, to assist them in the process of recovery within the community.
The successful candidates will hold a recognised qualification in Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Community Learning, a post graduate qualification in addictions or accredited counselling qualification. They will demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the needs of people affected by drug use. Experience of working with drug users and knowledge of effective interventions in a recovery focused service are essential for this post.
Quay Services
PART-TIME SUPPORT WORKERS (Female*)
£9.52 per hour
The successful candidates will be required to contribute to the smooth running of Quay Services, a specialist service for vulnerable women who are involved in prostitution. Working closely with drugs workers, the post holders will provide assistance and support to women at the night-time drop-in and through other community locations. Applicants must be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills, a non-judgmental approach to drug use and prostitution, the ability to work as a part of a team and the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment. Experience of working with vulnerable women is also required.
Each post holder will be expected to work 7 hours per week, including at least one evening.
* This post is exempt under Section 7 (2)(b) and section 7 (2)(e) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1975.
Direct Access Services
DRUGS WORKERS Full Time (37 hours)
Salary: £24,813 £27,467 (includes 7.5% unsocial hours payment)

Working with and within Communities Drugs Action's direct access services aim to reduce drug related harm, to promote health and create opportunities for recovery. These services provide immediate access to specialist advice, information and support to drug users, families and members of the community. Services are provided seven days a week and include helpline, drop-ins, and structured work to support recovery.
The successful candidate/s will have detailed knowledge of harm reduction interventions and expertise in the provision of a wide range of drug services. He/she will be a member of an experienced team required to work in partnership to develop services in line with community priorities. Required qualifications will be as outlined for Recovery Coaches above.
Part Time Volunteer Co-ordinator
18.5 Hours per week
£18,813 (pro rata)
Funded by the Scottish Government, this post will support the development of volunteering within Drugs Action's harm reduction and other direct access services. The successful candidate will be responsible for recruiting, co-ordinating and supervising a team of volunteers for the service. They will have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and be highly motivated to deliver services to a high standard. Direct experience of working with volunteers, experience of providing supervision and an understanding of issues faced by drug users are essential.
This post is funded for one year in the first instance.

Sales Post
CFINE is pleased to have secured finance through Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisation' Bursary scheme to recruit/ contract an enterprise sales person on either a zero-based contract or self employed for an initial 50 hours @£15/hour (inclusive) with the incentive of a payment of 10% of the first month's value of every sale secured through the postholder's efforts. The bursary would pump prime this post which could be sustainable through sales generated.
CFINE
CFINE improves health and well being, contributes to regeneration, increases employability and creates employment in and with disadvantaged and excluded geographical and interest communities by promoting the consumption of fruit, veg, pulses and other healthy products and encouraging and supporting volunteering which brings a range of personal, family and community benefits. The particular activities employed to support the above are Community Food Outlets, FareShare and the Fast Fruit Scheme. CFINE is now operational in Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and West Lothian. NB this post will focus on sales in Aberdeen.
ENTERPRISE
CFINE's sustainability strategy is based on growing our enterprise sales which presently are >£36,000 per month. We have 50 oil sector companies as enterprise customers and this sector certainly will be a focus of this post's efforts. Tasks involved will be e-promotion using the NE oil sector directory with follow up phone calls and visits. Other businesses may also be targeted in this manner.
