UK businesses, housing associations, local authorities, schools, community initiatives and charities throughout the UK that have been working on sustainable energy projects are now able to enter the 2012 Ashden Awards for Sustainable Energy. Each year the Ashden Awards reward ground-breaking sustainable energy initiatives, sharing their success and gaining them wider recognition. The Ashden Awards are looking for work that is technically excellent, is increasing the use of sustainable energy or improving energy efficiency, is improving the lives of local people and has been running for at least a year. The awards will provide individual prizes of up to £10,000, with an overall UK Gold Award of £20,000. In addition, the Ashden Awards will make a short, broadcast-quality film about the winning work and offer the winners a substantial package of benefits and support to help them grow. Please note that schools are now invited to apply as part of the general UK Awards and no longer need to complete a separate application form. |
