The following regional workshops in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness are planned for the spring as part of BTCV Scotland's ongoing Sustainable Communities Mentorship Programme: Glasgow: 25th & 26th February Aberdeen: 11th & 12th March Inverness: 18th & 19th March This programme offers training and support to individuals in Scotland who want to inspire their own communities to take action on Sustainability and Climate Change and aims to develop a network of Sustainable Community Mentors throughout Scotland through a series of regional training workshops and ongoing support. There is no fee for participants; costs are covered by BTCV Scotland in partnership with the Sustainable Development Commission Scotland and the Forum for Environmental Volunteering Activity. 'Two days well spent - an enjoyable, informative and inspiring workshop' 'Highly motivating, I would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to take environmental action' 'For anyone starting out on a project, this course should be a requirement' The programme starts with a 2 day training workshop which will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to raise awareness about Sustainability and communicate Climate Change in their own communities. Participants will also work on developing their own unique skills, producing Action Plans for their communities and learning tools to take forward practical Community Projects to improve the local environment and take action for a more sustainable planet. After the workshop, participants will receive ongoing support from local BTCV Scotland staff, instalments of resources and access to national and local skills sharing and networking events.
