Launch of Consultations on Aberdeen Bus Service Information (Deadline: 8/2/10)Aberdeen citizens are being urged to make their views known on the quality of the city's bus service information. Consultations will run until the 8th February 2010 and the results will be published on Aberdeen City Council's website at www.aberdeencity.gov.uk in March. Questionnaires are available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/LGRQRSD and can also be accessed via the council's website. |
Air Ambulance Consultation and Public MeetingScottish Ambulance Service Public Meeting - Air Ambulance Re-procurementThe SAS aircraft do not belong to the Service but are owned and operated by a private company on a contractual basis. They have started the tender process for this contract, which expires on the 31st March 2013. As part of this process and their commitment to continually improve the service, they are seeking the views of patients, the public and healthcare partnerson the Air Ambulance Service. If you are a patient or a healthcare partner, please complete the online surveys (link below). In advance of the procurement specification for the next generation of Air Ambulance Service, members of the public are invited to share their views on Air Ambulance with representatives from the Service. New Venue for Aberdeen Football Club (AFC) - SurveyAberdeen Football Club is planning to build a new, state of the art, football stadium at Loirston Loch to replace the existing stadium at Pittodrie. At this stage the design has yet to be finalised. A new stadium of this type represents a major investment in the city and, to ensure that the facilities accurately reflect the needs of the business community in Aberdeen, the Club is conducting a market research exercise. City Square Project (Deadline: 5/3/10)A major public consultation to ask people for views on plans to create a new civic space by redeveloping Aberdeen's Union Terrace Gardens and Denburn Valley has now been launched. Over a period of eight weeks ACSEF (Aberdeen City & Shire Economic Future) will seek to consult with as many people as possible on its City Square Project in a bid to determine the future vision of the city centre. The consultation will run until 5th March and will ask people:
Members can get involved and have their say in a variety of ways including public exhibitions in Aberdeen's shopping centres and in Peterhead and Inverurie. Leaflets about the project will be distributed along with a feedback form which will also be available online. A telephone hotline has been set up along with a dedicated website and text messaging service.Feedback can also be submitted on social networking sites Twitter and Facebook or by e-mail.Further discussions will be held with focus groups including the business sector, young people, the arts community, residents and community groups, public and charity sector organisations and council members. The Scottish Development Centre for Mental HealthThe Scottish Development Centre for Mental Health has launched its first ever national survey of service user and carer views of the Mental Welfare Commission. They are looking to gather the views of those service users and carers who have had contact with the Commission. This could be direct contact on a visit or at an event, or through use of the Commission's websites, leaflets or reports. The survey is independent and responses are confidential. Protecting Vulnerable People in Scotland (Deadline: 2/2/10)The Scottish Government has started a consultation on key elements of the secondary legislation required to implement the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme, its equivalent of the vetting and barring scheme just introduced elsewhere in the UK. The scheme is expected to start before the end of 2010, with phased implementation. |
Launch of consultation on draft guidance on partnership working between allied health professions and education (Deadline: 4/2/10)On the 4th December 2009, the Scottish Government published a consultation on national guidance on Allied Health Professionals and Education working practice. This draft guidance has been written to help school staff and allied health professionals (AHPs) to work more effectively as partners in supporting children and young people and was developed following extensive engagement with stakeholders. The Scottish Government is now seeking views from a range of stakeholders and service users including, education, social work and health professionals, voluntary sector bodies, parents and other partners to inform the final development of the guidance. |

Social Care Procurement - Draft Guidance for Consultation (Deadline: 5/4/10)This guidance provides a framework for social care procurement in Scotland. It defines a set of key principles which must be applied to procurement activity in social care, encompassing care and support for children and families, for adults and older people, and criminal justice services. It sets out the legislative and regulatory boundaries of procurement activity and considers policy and practice at key stages in the procurement process. This guidance has been developed in consultation with a Reference Group on which key stakeholders with an interest in social care procurement are represented . It has been developed in recognition that social care procurement requires special consideration within a Council's (or other commissioning body's) overall approach to the procurement of goods, works and services. |
Scottish Government Consults on Regulation of Charitable Incorporated OrganisationsA consultation has been launched on how Scottish charitable incorporated organisations should be regulated. The SCIO will be a new legal form aimed at charities with incomes of between £25,000 and £1m that want to acquire a legal personality and relieve their trustees of personal liability, but do not want to become charitable companies and be subject to the full range of company law. Institute for Public Policy Research - Tackling Poverty at a Local LevelThe IPPR is launching a project looking at work that tackles poverty, discrimination and disadvantage, improve job opportunities and protect the environment. They would like to find out more about the work currently being done by local organisations to build up a map and to identify examples of best practice.
