1. 'Business Mentoring'
| Mentors are established business people with their own unique blend of business and life experience. They benefit from having 'been there and done that'. And they are willing to share their skills, knowledge and networks with other businesses, including voluntary organisations.
A mentor is there to support, stimulate and challenge you , on a personal and organisational/business level. They help you to view your organisation in a different light, and their knowledge and specialised expertise can point you in the right direction. |

Like all businesses, you will have many plans for the future. Maybe you would benefit from an objective view of your organisation to help you realise what your goals should be? Perhaps you want to learn alongside an experienced business person? Or maybe you just want to expand your network of contacts.
Business Mentoring can help voluntary organisations and social enterprises deal with some of the new commercial realities and challenges in a more business-like way. Only businesses that have been trading a minimum of a year can apply.
Business Mentoring is aimed at organisational leaders and can provide support to organisations through either one-to-one, group or online mentoring.
We match programme applicants carefully to experienced and successful business people. This happens by assessing your business development objectives and matching these with a mentor who has the required experience and skills to meet your needs.
We have a pool of experienced, successful business people from a wide range of different business sectors, who are willing to invest their time to enable other people and organisations to benefit from their experience.
The choice of service our applicants will be involved in will depend on the issues facing the organisation as well as the amount of time they wish to put into the programme.
Business Mentoring is free. You can either contact ACVO's Funding Officer, Alison Chandler for advice/referral on (01224) 686054 or e-mail her at funding@acvo.org.uk
